CapCut is available in multiple languages and makes starting your journey with video editing easy. It's a free app without any ads, however, you need a paid Pro subscription to access some features after the 7-day trial.

You can import your videos or record them with CapCut and then edit them with different effects, styles, and animations. All the changes you make to your video are previewed in real-time, so you get an instant visual of how your video will look like. You can test different options and edits, and if you change your mind, it's easy to undo those changes.

With CapCut, you can join multiple videos into a single project or just work on a single video. When you start editing, you will first see a preview of the video, then its timeline, and at the bottom, you'll find all the editing menus. There, you can find such features as trimming and cutting, background removal, frame rate adjustment, acceleration, color filters, sound settings, or different transitions and stickers that can be applied to your video. Each edit you make is added to the timeline as a separate item to allow reordering them and adjusting to your video length. When you exit any of the editing menus, you will only see the main timeline, so remember to open the corresponding menu if you want to make further changes to the elements you've added. From this view, you can also remove them.

With a library of over 1000 animations, objects, and effects you can apply, CapCut lets you customize your video in any way you want. Choose between transitions, color filters, sound effects, animated texts, stickers, and GIFs, or auto-generated captions. The library of possible objects is regularly updated, and new or seasonal elements are added throughout the year. Take advantage of that to create videos for different occasions with dedicated libraries (Christmas, Valentine's, Mother's Day, and much more). You can also trim the beginning and end of the video to remove unwanted footage, delete the background, and rotate or mirror the video.

On top of all that, CapCut offers a free library of music tracks to apply to your video, but you're still able to import your audio files if that's what you prefer. When you're happy with the result, the video can also be saved in high resolutions (720p, 1080p, and 4K) or published directly to your social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.

YouCut—Video Editor and Video Maker has been around for a long time and has a large group of loyal fans. Available on Android and iOS, it has a very clear and user-friendly interface that makes adding text, music, photos, and other objects fast and easy.

Another good alternative is DaVinci Resolve. While only available on desktops (Windows, macOS, Linux) and iPads, it's still worth considering as it offers powerful editing options. It's used widely by professionals in the film industry, but the modern and easy-to-use interface will also be good for people just starting with video editing. Apart from standard editing features, you also get color corrections, visual and audio post-production, motion graphics, and multi-camera editing. With DaVinci Resolve, you can get high-quality professional results and don't need to invest in a lot of different apps, as it supports all editing layers.
